2017 Vernon Dates - Sept 17 & Oct 1

Post by Brain »

We've booked two dates in Vernon - Sept 17 and Oct 1. The lot is smaller than previously, but I think we can still make a fun course.

Questions? Ask away........

Just for the record.....personally the only thing I have an issue with is sandals, flip-flops, etc that could potentially cause an issue finding the brake pedal.....

C. Driver Safety
ii) Footwear
a) All drivers, workers, and other participants shall wear appropriate
footwear that fully covers the foot while driving and working on the
course. Appropriate footwear does not include sandals, slippers, opentoed

What size tires do you need? Someone might have some takeoffs that will get you through a couple events

Cost for Vernon is $30 or two punches.....on the punch card.....physical violence is frowned upon

Not sure what we are doing for non-members - ie people who didn't race in Kelowna this year. I'll check with Bruce, but probably a $5 day membership or something

For those who haven't raced in Vernon:

Course will be open for walking around 8am. We'll plan to start racing at 9am. We wrap up around 4pm. All times are my best guestimate - we've never set up a course in the new/smaller lot, but we'll try to be organized.

Expect to get between 6 and 10 runs depending on number of people, unforeseen issues etc.

Course should be slightly faster/longer than Kelowna.....and basically no bumps.

Things run slightly differently as far as working the course etc, but we'll explain that at the drivers meeting.

We will have a lunch break sometime between 12pm and 1pm - usually 30-60 minutes.

Parking will be at the very back of the parking lot. Someone will be organizing parking when you get there. Might be special instructions for trailers etc.

Watch the speed bumps on the way in - they're not very high, but they have a really square edge. Pretty brutal on lowered/stiff cars.

We're racing rain or shine.

Any questions?
